About LivestockOS Africa

We build farm software that assumes the signal is gone and the work still has to get done.

LivestockOS Africa is a farm management platform built for African farmers, co-operatives and agribusinesses. We started from a simple observation: the farms that earn well are the farms that know exactly what every animal and every bag of feed costs them, and almost none of them have that information in a form they can act on.

Cattle, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits, grasscutters

Each species gets its own sub-farm, so feed, sales and mortality records never mix.

Works on any Android phone

No specialised hardware, so records are captured right where the work happens.

Cost and profit per batch

Feed conversion, mortality rate, cost per animal and true batch profit from your own records.

Records you can hand over

Animal passports, batch reports and a full activity history for traceability.

The Problem

African farms are not short of effort. They are short of information.

A farm manager will tell you how many animals died, but rarely when, why, or which batch they came out of. Feed is bought in bulk and costed by guesswork. Sales happen at whatever price the buyer offers that morning. None of this is a discipline problem. It is a record-keeping problem, and the tools that solve it were never built for a farm in Kumasi, Eldoret or Kaduna.

Records live in notebooks and memory

A lost notebook means lost pedigree, lost breeding history and no way to prove what an animal is worth at sale.

Feed is the largest cost and the least measured

Farmers buy feed by the bag and guess at conversion. Without a feed conversion ratio, nobody knows whether a batch earned its keep.

Mortality is discovered too late

When deaths are only counted at the end of a cycle, disease outbreaks are already over. LivestockOS flags mortality by cause the day it happens.

Sales and debtors are settled from memory

Credit sales without a ledger become money that is never recovered. A simple debtor statement changes that conversation entirely.

What We Believe

Four principles behind every decision we make

Built for the phones farmers already own

No special hardware and no expensive setup. LivestockOS runs on everyday Android phones and keeps data light, so records are captured right where the work happens.

Every number in Ghana Cedis

No currency conversion, no mystery. Feed, medicine, labour and sales are all recorded in the same currency the farmer actually trades in, so margins are real rather than estimated.

Records that prove the margin

A farm is judged on whether it makes money. We build cost engines that attribute feed, mortality and overhead to the batch that consumed them, so a farmer knows the true profit per pen.

Built around the people who work the farm

Owners, herdsmen, pen boys and co-operative secretaries all have a role. LivestockOS gives each of them a simple job to do and gives the owner the consolidated view.

How It Works

From a notebook to a farm that knows its own numbers

Most farms are fully operational within a week. There is no migration project and no consultant to book.

01

Create your farm and your animals

Register the farm, define your animal types and breeds, and add your herd by ear tag or as a batch. Start with the animals you already have.

02

Log the daily work

Record feed, weights, vaccinations, milk and egg collection, and any deaths. The app is built for the field, so this happens right where the work does.

03

Read the economics

Feed conversion, mortality rate, cost per animal and true batch profit are calculated from your own records, updated every day.

04

Sell with the numbers behind you

Know your cost per kilo before you agree a price. Track credit sales on a debtor ledger and follow up before the balance ages.

Who It Is For

A tool for the whole livestock value chain

Whether you keep forty layers in a backyard pen or run a thousand head across four counties, the underlying question is the same: what did it cost to raise this animal, and what did it earn when it left? LivestockOS answers that for every size of operation, in the currency you trade in.

  • Smallholder farmers running poultry, cattle, goats, sheep or pigs
  • Commercial layer and broiler operations tracking feed conversion and egg yield
  • Dairy and beef herds with individual pedigree and gestation tracking
  • Agribusinesses and co-operatives consolidating member farm reporting
  • Farm managers who need a debtor ledger and a batch profit and loss statement
Our Mission

To make professional farm accounting affordable and usable for every African farmer, not just the largest commercial operations.

Visibility. A farmer should be able to open the app and know the state of the herd, the cost of the week and the margin so far, without asking anyone.

Fair pricing. Smallholder farmers get the same production tooling as large operations, and start on a free plan that is genuinely useful on its own.

Practical guidance. Vaccination schedules, withdrawal periods and feed benchmarks are built in, so good practice is the default rather than an extra lesson.
